SportLiget - sports facilities in Városliget

The City Park has been inspiring and welcoming sports enthusiasts from the outset. As it plays a very important recreational role for the residents in the surrounding districts, during the implementation of the Liget Budapest Project we made it our priority to strengthen and expand sports and outdoor playground functions that encourage a healthy lifestyle. A key project in this regard was the new Városliget Sports Centre, known as the SportLiget, which is now one of Budapest’s most versatile sports facilities. The sports centre, located in the south-eastern part of the City Park, at the intersection of Ajtósi Dürer and Dózsa György roads, is easily accessible, and provides opportunities for visitors – from the youngest to the elderly, from amateurs to professionals – looking for active recreation in a dozen sports. Athletes can pursue their passion in the most modern and safe conditions, with the added convenience of women’s, men’s and accessible changing rooms, as well as drinking fountains and bicycle storage facilities.
